92 Marathon Mods
I've been tinkering with this old cart, trying to get a utv/side-by-side look. It'll probably end up as a pit-cart for my nephew's race car. If not, it'll be a cool looking yard wagon for me
The front plastic was toast so I made a new nose out of treadplate...It still needs a little tweaking, but I thought it turned out OK http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w...psfk2yydns.jpg I'll do a bumper/grill guard for it after I get the 'cage' figured out. I got a start on the 'cage', it will still allow the factory lid, or maybe a bikini top, but I'm stuck on the front part... It needs some more bracing and maybe some grab bars... just looks goofy to me from the front http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w...psquicogyp.jpg http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w...ps7viuennu.jpg http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w...psg4wlqvc7.jpg Any ideas/input would be be appreciated! |
Re: 92 Marathon Mods
looks good I think some off road lights mounted on top would be killer
|
Re: 92 Marathon Mods
if it was mine, i would mount a LED light bar across the bottom front rail bar, and some off road round leds up top, a "oh ****" handlebar on both driveside and passanger side on the roll bar.
i would paint it black, also those tires are killing the looks department but im sure they work great, hard to beat the knobby tires for offroad. also something to consider for a seat if you decided to go that route to replace is a newer 96 and up. this is my 94 http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...ps6a477a9f.jpg |
Re: 92 Marathon Mods
and where you from? would you be interested in making a cage for mine if you was close enough?

Re: 92 Marathon Mods
Thanks for all the input:thumbup:
The Oh Sh** grab handles are probably gonna happen, and lights... Probably some up top and some on the bumper. Black paint for sure.. Been busy with work, and haven't had much buggy time.. I'll add some pics when I do |

i have maybe 1k in that golf cart total, started as a ugly forest green golf cart and flat bed, and i did the paint work myself, took a few weeks to do but loved doing it. painted the seat and suprisingly it held up 2 years and finally to the point where i need to repaint the seat. lift was cheap and tires and wheels was 300 bucks. kansas sadly is to far from me, im in ohio :( cause i do like that roll bar i did find someone with a 85 electric with a rear seat and a full hard top that covers the rear seat im going to buy for 100 bucks for parts for mine, steal the top, the seats and put them on mine. hard to pass that up for 100 bucks, ill probably recycle the batteries and motor, and sell the frame to a buddy that wants to put a motorcycle motor in it. |
