Shifter mechanism
 

Anybody have pics of the shifter mechanism for a `93 and up EZGO gasser? I'm putting a newer transaxle in my 1990 Marathon, which had a 2 cycle with no reverse in the rear end previously so there's no existing shifter cabling or linkages at all. It looks like I might need two cables and some sort of rocker arm setup but that's just a guess. Here's the rear end I'm using.

I wonder if anyone has ever used an electric actuator to do the shifting and avoided fabricating the mechanical linkage. I'd be concerned about applying too much force but it seems like it's worth at least investigating.

Not sure but that is a sweet idea If possible it would need an adjustable link I know when I changed my belt to a shorter belt for more torq it was hard to shift on hills or when it was in a bind at all. So you would want to have the ability to make that change and then you just need something like a 3 position electric rocker switch is all similar to an on/off/on switch with the nutraul in the off pos. maybe. Not sure how this would be wired I'm just thorwing ideas out.

I think I'll end up taking a crack at a dual cable mechanical type linkage. Gave it some thought and I'd like to have the 'tactile feedback' you get with a hand operated shifter in case there's any reluctance by the tranny to go into gear smoothly. It took me almost a year to find the transaxle I'm installing. I'd hate to bugger it up.

Understand that! I have a actuator similar to that one that I might play with over the next few months.
