5 terminal switch bad, 4 terminal switch no worky

Hi all,
Yep, I'm a noob, so be patient,please!
1997 CC Carryall II Plus, stock cart.
Owned and maintained since new, by me.
When old 5 terminal switch went bad, it would only work when held in the far right start position.
If you released the key and let it move to the left to the run position the engine would shut off.
Purchased a new 4 terminal switch from a local CC dealer and wired it from the sticky wiring diagrams on this great forum and still no start.
New 4 terminal switch "ohms out" when tested.
What am I missing?
Does anyone on the forum have a source for a 5 terminal and a wiring diagram for it?
My D Azz deleted the pics of the back of the ignition switch from my phone.
I would appreciate the help, we use this cart daily for work and it's a big part of our labor.
Thanks in advance for the help.

The 4 post won't work... it's for a "pedal start" cart!
You need a 5 post "key start" key switch!

Carryall Plus has a start terminal, unlike the one shown. I just bought a switch for my 472 from my local mower dealer. I haven't installed it yet. The only difference is the light switch terminal is not hot until you turn the key switch back one spot like a riding mower.

The one "shown" is for a "key start" cart!

Thanks Guys,
I have been going back and forth with my local CC shop and he keeps saying "You need a 4 terminal, I know it will work!".
He has sent me on some wiring chasing, solenoid swapping, find this terminal stuff that is just driving me nuts, let alone taking up way more time than this type of repair should require.
I miss driving my Carryall, it is a part of our family and my work day!
LOCKMAN1 that schematic is just what I needed.
Thank you sooo much!!!!!

Your CC shop may not be very familiar with "key start" carts either then!
that's why you always have to emphasize that it's a "key start" cart!

Here's the part number for the key switch:
(from a 2008 Carryall 2 Plus Illustrated Parts list... I couldn't imagine it would be any different then your 97)

Key switch - 12V, Off/On/Start - # 101826401

Your CC shop may have to order it.

As for your "conversion to pedal start" question in the other thread... I imagine it can be done,
but, it amazing how many people here like their carts to idle, and would love to convert to "key start"!
I'd say... just get the proper key switch and and get her running again!

I'll try to stretch it by asking, does this mean our gas Precedent and DS carts can be converted to key start by installing this switch? If so, is anything else required?

No... there's more to a key start cart then just the switch!
The key switch, additional wiring, and a relay (and possibly other things) are required to convert to a key start cart!

A key start convertion can be done. Even with the 4 wire switch by adding a relay. It works how ever it cranks as soon as the key comes on. I put one in my cart. I lke the idle part. Did not like the key start and removed it after a few hours.
