Help with EZGO Year & Model

I am in the market for a new cart (1997 txt & up) and need a little help on determining the year of the cart and model. I know how to tell the difference between series & DCS/PDS but I'd like to know how to decode the serial # so I can tell the year/model. I couldn't find the answer in the stickies or searches. Thanks in advance.

Re: Help with EZGO Year & Model

The last 2 numbers of the manufactures code is the year, located inside the passenger side glove box, the 2004 and newer ezgos dont have a serial number plate in the box, they have a serial number sticker under the rear access panel behind the seat, and then on the driverside frame rail below the floor board, stay away from 96-97 DCS carts, there is a a reason they only built them for a short time, DCS carts will have a tow/run switch under the seat, with a F/R Switch that looks like a small metal dish on the inside of the body, behind the actual lever, PDS carts will have a Tow/Run switch with button for f/r on the dash, and lastly a series cart will have a shift lever like the dcs cart down by your legs, but it will NOT have a tow/run switch, good luck, with your new purchase,

Re: Help with EZGO Year & Model

Thanks for the help, I thought the year was harder to locate on ezgos. I've found a 2003 PDS for $1850 with new trojans, it's two hours away so I haven't seen it. Does this sound like a good deal? I would like to get a series cart but can't find them around here very easily.

Re: Help with EZGO Year & Model

Not a bad price. I just paid 1395. for a '99 with batteries 2&1/2 yrs. old. Also depends on area. I am in the Pacific NW and decent used are a little hard to find. I went 400 miles to pick this one up. I'll shine it all up, new set of seat covers, replace mats, etc. and it will bring about $23/2400 here.
