G-1 has trouble when hot

Hey Guys, any ideas on why my G1 runs great when I first start her and she is cold. After running her for 10 minutes or so she has a hard time starting but runs fine once she take off. This is some new behavior on her part. Thanks for any ideas. :help:

Hey there I have 2 G1's and both of them done the same thing. I had to replace the engine seals and now they run great. You can take a compression check on the engine and see what you come up with. All models except the 82 should have around 120lbs and the 82 I think its 110lbs not real sure about the 82 but that is what you should check. Also you can jack the rear wheels off the ground and have someone crank on the engine while you take a can of wd-40 or carb spray and shoot some around where the seals are if the engine revs up then your seals are bad. Good luck.

I had the same problem, changed seals, checked fuel pump compression etc. finally found a carb made for my model year and it now starts and runs all the time hot or cold

Thanks for the reply. I will check my seals, though I did replace them last year. The cart runs great, just hard to get running when it is hot. I was thinking more of the mixture being too rich. But thanks to all!

might be a coil.

That's an interesting thought. I have heard they sometime fail only when hot. I can't picture where the coil is. When I get home I will take a look. Maybe I could get the engine hot pull the coil, cool it down with ice and put it back in and give her a go. Thanks for the thought.
