Columbia / ParCar comments/complaints

Okay, I'm going to open Pandora's box here for everyone. I would like to hear from anyone who has a complaint (or a good comment) about a Columbia or ParCar vehicle, whether it's just a PIA to service, or parts are impossible to find (be realistic please on the 20 year old vehicle) or whatever else ticks you off on our vehicles.

I may not be able to make everyone happy with a resolution, but I do want to hear your concerns and do what I can with them.

And that opens the door if you have a complaint about a specific dealership of ours. We want to know what your experiences are. We can't fix it if we don't know about it.

For some general level of etiquette though, please use the following guidelines:

1. You can post the general comments on this thread.
2. If you have specific questions NOT related to a person or business, go ahead and post on the thread too, so others can see.
3. If you have a comment or question about a specific person at a dealership, or that dealership in general, PLEASE do not post on the thread. You can pm me through here, or via direct email and I will follow up on each and every concern, and get back to you. Include details so that I can research please.

Again, I can't promise to get everyone the answer you want, but I will try to get you at least some answer and explanation. You have the ears of the Columbia and ParCar factory here.

Thanks.

John

Well... this is pretty cool!

Now granted... I bought a Club Car from the dealer just east of you, (Good man, and Good service!)
and since I've been on this forum from the start, I've learned a LOT about other brand golf cars,
and I've found that no matter the brand... they're ALL cool!

So, here's a question...

How do I go about scheduling a tour of the Columbia plant?

(holidays, and weather permitting, of course!)

Call our 800 number and ask for John. And then we tour.

My shop is connected to a seasonal campground with thousands of carts, yet the newest Columbia ParCar we've had in was a 95 or so. Difficult to ID some of the ones we've had because age/rust/use have obliterated the ID tags.

Here's our VIN location guide which helps to know at least WHERE to look. I can't help much if the tag rusted off, or if the label was removed.

For units that are at least since the 90's, we usually recorded the serial numbers of components with the VIN, so sometimes I can cross reference them over. Those would be axle, controller, charger and motor.

Can you give some details on the vehicle? VIN, voltage, motor, tires, etc...

Which motor, which axle ratio, what voltage, whats the actual tire size? All these make up different combinations to get the speed. CJustclike you can’t just say a 86 chevy with 15” tires, there are many variables involved.
