Gel batteries vrs lead acid.
I thought I read one time that you could not use gel batteries in a golf cart I thought it had something to do with the charger system did not work with gel batteries. Is this true? Because I am seeing where people with golf carts are buying gel batteries. What are your thoughts?

Re: Gel batteries vrs lead acid.
All the lead acid batteries that don't use liquid electrolyte require lower voltage at the end of the charge cycle (AGM & GEL). The reason is that electrolyte cannot be replaced in those sealed batteries. The flooded lead acid charger will push voltages too high at the end of the charge cycle, burning away electrolyte that cannot be replaced.
