2001.5-08.5 vs 94-01.5 spindles

Anyone know the difference between the 2001.5-08.5 spindles and the 94-01.5 spindles? My axle was cracked so I replaced it with an st350 axle. Its listed to fit 94-01.5 txts. I have a chance at drop spindles from a 01.5-08.5. Wondering if I can make this work. Im not scared to fab new parts if needed. Thanks.

Won't work, the 01.5 and earlier use a tie-rod to each wheel, the 01.5 and newer uses one tie-rod to the passenger side and a drag link from wheel to wheel, so spindle arms are different. Plus (I think) the spindles are a different length where they fit in the axle.

It's going on a 93 gxt804 so I was planning to cut the tie rod mounts off my current spindles and welding them to the new ones. The only thing I'm worried about is the size of the spindle itself.

So your planning on using the dropped spindles on the dropped axle?

If you don't get an answer here you might call Allsports they would know if the spindles will fit the axle.

Yes. I had a 6inch drop axle on an old marathon and didn't like how the tie rod ran across. Too much potential to damage it. I want to use the shorter drop axle with 3 inch drop spindles. If it works out I should have 6 to 7 inches of lift depending on the st350 axle and the tie rod and steering linkage will be tucked out of the way.

You were right on the spindles. They are about an inch longer where they mount. Also, the st350 axle is already wider than the marathon axle. Using the drop spindles would make it too wide.

Fortunately, the st350 axle fits the original spindles and gives 4 inches of lift just by welding the leaf spring mount on top.

Should be 6"+ lift with the spring mounts on top, 4" stock on ST axle.

Yes, It would be 6" or so on an ST or TXT but since the marathon already has the mounts on top it works out to around 4". I can take pics when I get home.
