89 starter
 

starter makes a whining / moaning sound ,, not sure it comes from starter but it will finally start turning the engine and get faster as it turns / tried = new belt - different starter - double then triple checked belt fot tight // does the same with any of the 3 starters that I have here . sometimes takes 10 to 15 seconds to begin to turn engine over .

Sounds like a ground problem. Check all grounds battery to frame- frame to engine oh and also the ground battery cable clamp. They may look clean but remove them and sand grounding points and then replace them. Also while you performing you task put a battery charger on and fully charge the battery. Get back with us and give us an update K

Checked all 4 grounds , cleaned scraped mounts and it made no difference , had the battery checked and it has 3 weak cells will probably get another battery when time permits -
