Default Re: Need help with 1988 Columbia Parcar

You posted this in the wrong forum, it should be in Gas Par Car rather than Electric Par Car. It's cool. A mod will likely move it soon enough.

It sounds like your starter is turning your engine but your engine isn't ever actually running. The first thing you need to do is check to see if you are getting any spark. That's as simple as pulling the plug and, while using some insulated pliers, hold the plug bottom on the engine head and see if it's sparking. If not, we'll have to start there.

If it is sparking then you will have to do a compression test. Testers are cheap and can be had at Harbor Freight or an auto parts store. You should be seeing around 90 psi.

If you have spark and your compression is good then you are going to want to check to see that you are getting fuel. There is a "sticky" post on the top of the Gas Harley Davidson section that is called "Fuel Draw" or something like that. Give it a read as it applies to Columbias as well.
