Marathon rebuild
The royal mounted police arrived in my inbox today. Apparently there was some controversy about who own a thread. I never read THREATS so I couldn't say what is in it. But, the title is a very 8th grade like. "Please grow up." As a former NCAA Division one athlete, in multiple sports, I peaked at 6' 3". I hope my grow spurts are done. It would be awkward to reach 7' now that I'm in my 60s.
I wanted to do my rack 1st. Because I have no experience with that I decided on the rear drum brakes 1st. They went pretty smooth. The 1st side was slow since I hadn't work on drum brakes for nearly 35-40 years. I did need to reference my pictures, install diagrams, and the other side to get it right. I was initially scared about the 3 line points per shoe that required grease. But, the plate had a well defined area for them. The second side went quick.
For those experts who like to critique I did leave something out. When I finished the second side I spilled my brake cleaner drain pan, 98 cent Walmart rooster pan, all over my foot. So I didn't tighten the castle nut, and no pin was inserted. But I just wanted to clean up. And I'll be back under there to replace the brake cables, add a lift, change shocks, etc... I also had to fabricate, shorten clevis pins, for the cables.
I also went to harber freight for the 1st time. Picked up misc stuff.
