I had the same issue a while back checked all connections and it would work for about a week then it failed again turned starter by hand a couple rounds then it worked again. Decided to take it apart and the brushes were worn so much the brush spring would not push the brush down enough to make contact. Installed a new set of brushes cleaned the commutator. The started turns over the engine and starts better then ever.
