Default Re: Pulser coil ohm question

OK - not to throw in contradicting info, but I have done a ton of the two strokes and I have experienced OHM readings as low as 60 and as high as 165 on perfectly good pulsars (I've had brand new ones that read 130+) ... As to AC voltage, generally a good pulsar will give You in the neighborhood of .8-1.4VAC while cranking.

That said, zero VAC is bad. 25ohms is bad. Personally, I'd pull the flywheel and inspect it - I have had 2 carts in the last few years that had physically damaged pulsars (likely from debris working its' way behind the flywheel) that wouldn't generate anything AC-wise but ohm'd out good (You wanna talk some real puzzling troubleshooting, LOL). The basic premise was that the pulsars were cracked and hanging to where they couldn't produce voltage off the magnet on the flywheel, but they were still "Intact" internally so from the lead wires they both gave the readings and impression of being just fine.
