Shocks don’t sag, or cause alignment issues. Shocks don’t support the weight of anything. Shocks only purpose is to dampen the spring. They’re pressurized and designed to have a specific amount of damping. Some are stiffer that others (less bounce) and some are softer (more bounce but softer ride) but their purpose is the same.
Springs bounce. That’s what they’re designed to do. Springs support the weight of the vehicle and absorb the bumps and imperfections in the road.
Think if it like this. The last time you saw a rusty old jalopy hit a bump in the road, and then bounce and keep bouncing as it drove down the road for the next quarter mile is what a vehicle will do with worn out shocks. The shocks purpose in life is to dampen, or stop the “bounce” when springs do their thing. A car with good shocks will rebound or “bounce” once or twice and stop. The shock “absorbs” the extra “bounce” from the spring.
That said, why do you want to replace your shocks? Generally speaking, a golf cart is a pretty light machine and really the shocks themselves don’t do a whole lot. I’ve had carts with no shocks at all and you really wouldn’t ever know the difference. The amount of “pressure” in stock shocks is very very low compared to a car.
