That cart has two solenoids. The one on the drivers side has a coil on it. If the coil is getting real hot the solenoid may not be working. You can just hook both large cables on the same post and unhook the speed sensor, pig tail on end of motor. If it run better that will confirm the solenoid is bad. You can just leave it hooked that way if you don't want the regen braking. It will not hurt anything.
