Yes it's easily visible. Runs under the floor on the drivers side along the outer rail. It comes up behind the front left wheel.
You didn't say what yer the cart is but I kind of assumed its a 98+ since you said the air box is hinged and you can't get the top off. I think they used that style from something like '97 or '98 until they quit production of the DS. I know the 08 that we have has that style.
