I took everything off the subframe for the rear end, degreased it, knocked the bad rust down with a wire brush and did a few coats of two different types of Rust Converter. I didn't get an after picture of the rust converter, but the stuff from the spray can turned a snowy white. I even let it dry for several days to cure but it stayed white.
The second picture is just a shot of my "work shop". Anyone who know what my garage usually looks like will really appreciate the "mess".
