The OBC algorithm is a little different between 8v's and 12v's, but not enough to effect it negatively.

Your pans and hold downs are set for 6x8's and not 4x12's. Although I have 4x12's and am a proponent of them, my cart came with them.

And no way it is $600 difference. There would be a minimal difference in price. At most $100 or so.
