For reference on anyone trying to switch over to a POT on an older EZGO.
Flip the ball end receptor towards the diver side. If you can find a 9mm x M4 ball end it will fit perfect. I had to grind and drill using a 10mm x m5. Then 2 L brackets out of aluminum and you're done.
