Hey, I didn't see this earlier, You can unplug the two wires from the micro and try it. If no spark use a short jumper between them and try it again.
The reason I say this is some micros are:
NC (normally closed, curcuit completed current can pass through it)
NO (normally open, curcuit broken, no current can pass)
So I don't know which yours is doing.
