I managed to fix the problem now.

Turns out it was a faulty mosfet. I opened up the controller and managed to find a faulty mosfet that controls the switching on/off of the solenoid, I replaced the mosfet and now all is working normal.

If anyone else has the same problem her is some useful information.

The location of the mosfet on the circuit board is Q17 and the mosfet is a IRF530 N-Channel HEXFET Power MOSFET, 100v - 0.16Ω - 14A

The mosfet only cost a few cents and save me hundreds by not having to buy a new controller.
