I don't know about other controllers but if you have an Alltrax it is "Fully encapsulated epoxy fill" so I don't worry about getting it wet. I have on a couple of occasions had the cart not want to run after washing under the seat or hitting a large puddle in the street but I found that if I wipe off the 2 throttle tabs on the controller everything was fine. I just hit those tabs with a little WD 40 once in a while and no problem.
