When I bought my cart the batteries had about 70-75% of capacity left. It took 6-8 hours for the charger to shut off. I never let them get below 25% so I don't know what completely dead charge times would look like. My charger did put of some heat but I could always move it by the handle and wasn't hot enough to be uncomfortable. I didn't move it often so I may have not ever realized just how hot it got.
I just changed over to lithium so I have a PD3 charger and OBC I am going to post for sale soon if you decide you need one PM me.
