I agree with RSP. There is a rebuild kit on E-bay that gets you new brushes and new bearings for around $23 bucks shipped. If you are going to take it apart anyway, I would also replace the bearings (unless the armature is toast). Make sure you clean up the commutator with fine sandpaper before re-assembling.
