Starter generator problems
Have been having a problem for awhile now. I have power going to starter sometimes it doesn't want to turn over until I press the peddle several times you can hear it trying. I recently replaced the battery it was 8 years old, no change.
Replaced the brushes no change. All connections cleaned and tight, valves adjusted and re-checked. Starter runs fast when not under load (belt removed) engine spins freely by hand with normal resistance during compression stroke.
Not thinking solenoid unless its not letting proper voltage beyond switch.
