It would be a good idea to remove the wires from that Solenoid small posts and test the diode as well as measure the resistance of the Solenoid coil as some of those cheap solenoids have high power coils.

Sergio, thank you for jumping on board. I am not an electrical guy at all, so I appreciate the help.
Before and without the diode in place, I am getting 138 ohms of resistance between the small posts. I don't know what that means but I am guessing it should be close to zero and I should get a new relay???
Suggestions? Maybe from Mouser? I have a 36 volt system
