Answers:
1. The gold thing is a shunt for the SOC volt/amp meter.
2. I did not use the use the internal 48 to 12 volt converter. I use my old voltage reduces that is blue. I also ran all the 12 volt accessories through a fuse block.
3. I have a have a 2017 Club Precedent so no issues with the OBC.
4. I did not switch out the OEM plug. I use the charger external just like the original setup. I requested Extreme Team to connect an OEM plug to the charger. This eliminated a bunch of cutting and splicing.

EDITED: In the instructions there is a note that explains how to disconnect the OBC by cutting a couple of wires.
