Sorry late to the party, but great trouble shooting
Unfortunatly Yamaha TCI's are not checkable. You check all other ignition sytem parts and if they check good, bad TCI. Useually the go bad after running the car for awhile, then when cooled down, they work again. Part # JN3-82305-00-00 has a suggested retail of 210.49. Might do a web search for that part #, But I would not buy an aftermarket one, Try to find an OEM one for the best price.
