If you have a failed bearing and have been cutting on it, you'll want to flush out the rear end. If I recall, I inserted a piece of 1/2" threaded rod into the wheel side of the axle and added a washer and nut from the differential side, which I used to pull the bearing out, like a slide hammer. I may have been able to fit a socket in front of the washer and nut, but don't remember.
