Ha Ha it is good to be the president. I have 18” tires and am at about 25 mph with the stock gears 11.5-1 i think. I bought the 6-1 and installed but left the governor in place and am still at about 25 mph, so your thought is probably true that the governor is tied to ground speed not engine speed. Also looked last night and for every tire rotation I get 8 of the driven clutch, so am assuming that I actually received and installed the 8-1 gears instead of the 6-1 I ordered. This is a 401 cc Kawasaki engine and seems to have plenty of power everywhere just runs out of speed. Thinking I will get a tach so I can make sure I keep an eye on it.
