Re: Yamaha Stop Switch Repair
If my engine gets a little warm or hot, it won't shut off. I have to lift the seat, use a glove and apply pressure to the clutch cover to get the crankshaft to stop turning and shut the engine off. If the engine is cold and I drive the cart for 1 minute, it will cut idle for a few seconds then cut itself off. For this reason, I am not suspecting a problem with the kill/start switch under the pedal (I put a new one in 4-5 years ago).
I also put an aftermarket carburetor in 3-4 years ago. Wondering if there is something wrong with that causing the engine to "diesel" - run on it's own without spark plug.
I am a novice mechanic but a quick learner. Just can't figure this out yet - any advice on where to look?
