A pencil die grinder or dremel with a burr bit works way better so you don’t snaggle the terminal.
However in doing so, you remove the finish of the terminal which opens it up for corrosion if it’s a tin plated or gold plated terminal.
Other down side to replacing the terminals with proper 3/8 terminals is you need the correct tool to crimp them. Your crusty old stripper/crimper combo ain’t gonna cut it. But that is the better way to do it.
