thanks for all the ideas guys. i ended up wanting that thing off yesterday so i could work on painting it. i drilled little holes trying to go as close to possible to the shaft. it ended up taking about 6 or 8 holes some wd 40 and still quite a bit of prying but it finally came off. ill probably put some black caulk in the holes or eventually get a new one. thanks again
