You probably have another battery that has a shorted cell. The one that " boils over " may just be overfilled. What happens with a bad cell, is the pack voltage is lower and the charger is trying to achieve a constant, higher voltage. This results in all the other batteries being overcharged! In my opinion, you have a bad battery still in your pack. The one you removed is probably Ok.
