Default Re: flathead motor needed

Yes it is a KF82 (sorry I should have put that info in the header) I had looked into getting a complete motor from J&M but when they started using the word "IF" things rapidly got more expensive. I hadn't seen recon parts listed.

I am in the northern redneck state of Pennsylvania (the southern part of course) the $900.00 kit was from LVS in Florida. I looked at J&M's parts listing but didn't see any overhaul kits there.

I will look thru the listings again but I didn't see any kits from buggies unlimited for $500.00

The full story behind this....I bought the cart with a rod knock...only a few hours on a rebuild....tore it down found the crank end of the rod scored & no oil slinger......tried the cheap way out....bought a new rod & slinger & polished the crank....checked the clearances.....put it back together.....yep you guessed it ...it still knocks!! So now I'm going for the whole rebuild.
