Try this. I had a similar problem.
1.take the driven clutch off
2.take to c clip out to take apart the clutch
3.with the spring out, slide the 2 clutch halfs back together and check for side to side play.
4.the shaft on the cluch itself can wear out causing the inside sheave it to rattle at high speeds when it fully opens
5. if there is play (room to rattle) put some grease on the shaft and put the clutch back together
6. if its quiet for for a time being. you need a clutch!
