The biggest difference between them (aside from unitized vs. 2 separate parts) is rotational direction. The older carts used a CCW rotational motor, the newer motors rotate clockwise. So while an older unit would probably fit ant work fine in a newer cart, forward and reverse would be opposite.
Is your rear end bad or are you just looking for maintenance procedures?
