My g2 had the exact same issues. I have been messing with it for three weeks since I changed the brushes. Switched out everything all it would do was idol. Then I found the solution because of what MJS said. He simply put the old brushes back in and it worked fine. It made me think that the brushes were installed incorrectly which they were when I tighten the screw it must’ve made the metal contact the starter case straighten all of them up and runs like a top
