Sorry, I just wanted to post again to let you know that I added another question to the above posting. Thanks for your quick replies. Here's the question:
"Oh, here's an embarrassing little question:
My ClubCar motor had a glob of what looked like Bondo on the armature near the head when I bought it (used). I asked a mechanic about it and he said he couldn't see them using it for balance, and I should remove it, so I did. However, a couple of days ago I stumbled across a pic of a motor on eBay with the same glob underneath which photo a caption read: "factory balanced for peak performance." Have I erred irretrievably? The motor still works, but I wonder if I should try to put another glob of whatsit onto the armature."
