The original top that came on my Star Cart was a combo of a fiberglass top and a solid steel basket. Together they must have weighed over 100lbs.
So I have decided to shed this combo and install a different basket. This is tubular steel and with four holes drilled, magically mounted to the stock bolts with very little effort. It's much lighter and the cart is not as top heavy. Not only is it functional, it's also shorter and actually fits in my garage now! Original height of this cart is over 7 feet tall.
The best part is that there are now handles all over the top. Before, my passengers didn't have an "oh sh
t" bar to hold on to! Oh, and it seems faster. No GPS test yet.
Now I just need some type of tarp to keep a few rain drops off of me. Any passengers will just have to get wet.
