I just installed a radio/amp in my 06 cart. I elected to use a rechargeable battery pack installed in the right dash cubby hole. Don't have to worry about cabling from the battery compartment and noise from the controller.
It's only 100 watt but does the job. I used a motorcycle setup that's water proof so no problem with the wx. either.
