Default Re: Eric Battery Charger

Like I said before, 65v is considered normal. Trojan recommends 64.8v during an equalization phase. You can see slightly higher or lower depending on pack condition, and brand new batteries will often be slightly higher due to the cells brand new.

The batteries don't continue to charge after you unplug the charger. The high voltage part of the charge cycle is designed to allow the cells to fully charge as part of the deep cycle process, and balance the voltage between cells. After the charger turns off, that high voltage leaves a surface charge which takes several hours to taper off after the charge is finished. That's normal for this type of battery. If FLA batteries do not get charged at a voltage higher than the nominal pack voltage, the pack never reaches a full charge.

Did you change the algorithm in the ERIC charger when you put the new batteries in?
