Default Re: G9AG Gearbox snatching

You may have to adjust the cables, usually you can see if it is in neutral with the shifter in the center. If not then its off. They have a little pressure to work against each other, too much and the handle will be hard to move. So you move one up then move the other down the same amount, unless the tension is not correct.

Note you are not supposed to shift while in motion or with engine running. It may clunk once as you start after shifting, but should never grind. The clunk is similar to an outboard that uses a similar dog clutch setup....except those can be shifted while idling. Typically the grinding may be the cables are not putting it all the way into gear, or you have a trans problem.

Zerk is grease gun fitting on edge of engine clutch and on back of secondary clutch usually near the ramps/hub back there. Put about one pump of grease in each, you don't want any getting out and on the belt. Maybe a little more if it has not been done in a year or more. If the clutches do not shift properly you will not get the speed and power the cart can deliver from that massive 10hp in there, lol, if you see what I mean....it can make a big difference.
