I'm surprised no one mentioned a possible failing Rev Limiter...

1. Remove the left mounting bolt of the limiter w/brown wire eye loop,
2. Remove the eye loop from the bolt,
3. Reinstall the bolt, and tape up the eye loop with electrical tape and just let it hang,
4. Test drive.

It's a simple thing to do to narrow down the possibilities.
