Trouble with battery drain and possible dead lithium

The lithium battery in that thread is Chevy Volt, which burns just like the Tesla cars. The leaf modules will not burn, they will expand when misused and will be no longer usable. Here is a picture of a damaged Leaf module. No fire, no explosion, just expansion.

On further thought about the parasitic draw running the batteries down further. When the cart died did you tow it home? And if so was the cart in tow. If it wasn't you could have damaged the motor or controller which might be causing the parasitic draw. Just a thought.

We put it in tow mode and put it on my trailer so luckily that wasn’t an issue. I went ahead and ordered a Husky 103Ah lithium battery and charger from Bigbattery. Hopefully it will connect up and work better than the small leaf pack. I’m still a little worried about the draw, but its possible it was the bms or some part of what I am removing.

With a 103Ah battery, how long would you all guess I should get for runtime on asphalt roads with a couple of small hills?
It seemed with my small Nissan leaf pack that my son was getting somewhere around 45minutes to an hour before he hit the low voltage mark and I think that pack was somewhere around the 50-60Ah range (although the bms always read it at 40Ah). When I put the new battery in I want to set some expectations for him. He will have a digital read-out to which will help.

40aH is about right for reclaimed Leaf cells so 103aH will give you around 2 hours of run time, 2.5 x 45min.

To get 2 hours of run time you have to average well under 50 amps with a 103aH pack. My cart pulls about 70 amps at 20mph so I would have to average well under 20mph to do 2 hours of driving with that size pack. I play golf so my average speed is way under 20mph when on the course.
