Got my seat covers from "Up To Par covers" and they were only $150 which I thought was pretty reasonable and they're good quality. Don't know what it would cost you to get them shipped but they're available direct, Amazon, and Ebay. There's a painter here in the US that paints cart bodies from about $550 and up. Even shipping in the US has gone up significantly because of covid and higher fuel prices.

Yah stuff is just more expensive here. If it was like 400 to paint it Id have probably said yes.
To freight in a new body Id guess you'd be looking at $500 in sea freight and pray they packed it well to survive it.

I just used some budget LOL parts stuff from ebay.
They look OK and just 30$ a set.

Amazon and ebay is no problem here Ive got a couple addresses. Small stuff is cheap. Once you get over the oversize surcharge though, its triple the postage.

I can only imagine how difficult it is to get anything at a reasonable price on your island. Not like a ship comes in every day or going to the local hardware store. You have done a great job but it's a shame you can't see all the hard work you put into it (welding)!

HAHA yah all the nice welding and paint is mostly covered up

You can see the nicer floor and the working lights.

Its not THAT BAD here. We do have a Home Depot, and we get in mail daily on passenger planes from Hawaii.

If you order stuff by sea freight its only 2-3 weeks or so but its not terribly cheap for LARGE items.

I knew nothing about golf carts.
I know enough about everything battery carts now I could run a repair shop.

The whole thing seems like a knockoff brand with specialty plugs everywhere?
Besides the frame you just need to know where to get the cheaper parts and swap stuff out with other common parts. small re-wire necessary but not too bad.

The only think IDK how to replace is the pedal group. Id love to swap in a club car pedal assembly for it and remove all the trash they have there. Would make my life 100x easier replacing the front end

I thought this was a US company?
Is it a made in China run place?
Its a common business model these days with many things.

The company is headquarters in south Carolina and they claim assembly is done there but its likely that means the roof and wheels are bolted on in the US. China has nothing to do with why the markup is so high on the parts... thats sounding like the greedy middlemen in South Carolina..

IMO so many find work arounds or just plain lie about the whole "Made in USA" thing you just cant assume anything. Being an american "brand" means nothing in itself anymore.

I have a ecodiesel Ram truck(french owned these days) but mopars still headquartered in the US. the engines are throwing #2&3 bearings left and right.. over 15% engine replacement rate according to FCAs own records.... $15 grand for an installed replacement engine that has the same flaw (even though they have corrected it on the new model engine) and a 7 month waiting list to get the engine from Italy right now...

Yup ever since China was emboldened we've got more and more crap output products pumped through the coal fire plants in China, then sold in the USA. The whole made in the USA part is so slimey.

and yah I think they came up with the idea to pad profits that they would have one or two dealers sell aftermarket repair parts that are common to other carts or just China trash parts, then make them 3x anything sane market for an identical Yamaha or EZGo part. Pretty slimey which is why Id say Id never ever buy a STAR cart EVER again especially new don't support those sleezeballs dealers.

more for today
sorry some repeat or dupes but this is more of a documentary for myself as well rebuilding this thing and making it my own with personally fabricated parts in many spots to fix some real crap that was there before.
