Default EZGO DCS question

Have a chance to get my hands on an EZGO DCS. I know they didn't make them for long so I was wondering what the opinion was on these carts.

DCS is a great little drive system produced from 1995 to 1999. It produced more speed than the earlier series drive carts and more torque than the later PDS carts which replaced it.
The DCS cart's original controller had one fatal flaw. Low voltage spiked amp draw and smoked the controller. Today's aftermarket controls eliminate that problem and DCS cart is an excellent choice for all around cart. Perfect for campground or property use where you may need added torque for rear seat and bigger tires and occasional 20 mph runs.

My mom's is a 95 DCS. Bought it in 99 and it has been working great until I messed it up. I removed a battery to lower it from 36 volts to 24 volts thinking it would slow it down for the grandkids. BIG mistake. Last night, with Scotty's help, I was able to confirm the solenoid is good and the controller is shot. Hope the motor is good.

No reason the motor would not be good.
