Default Club Car 2000.5 DS motor upgrade

Hello. I have a Club Car 2000.5 DS 48V (serial #A0041-944976) with stock everything, and 6 brand new Trojan batteries.
She goes fine on flat ground, but once on a slight incline she slows to a crawl. Any suggestions to fix that, or should I be looking at a new motor? If it's a new motor I need, what suggestions for a hilly property? Also, do I need a new controller and other things to make it run proper? Thanks for your time. Sidebar: I live in Canada if that makes a difference for ordering parts

How old are your batteries? What kind of speed are you getting on flat run?

Brand new batteries like just bought them 2 weeks ago. I'll have to get back to you on the flat ground speed as the cart is at my friends house currently getting a windshield put on. But off of my judgement, she feels like the same speed I would get at the golf course on flat ground.

If you are making changes - you'll get a bigger performance boost from a new (higher amp) controller. Amps are what climbs hills. Do some reading on this site to see what upgrades increase amps (eg. larger battery/motor cables etc.)

Right on thanks. I figure a new controller would work. Any suggestions?

What about this "Club Car DS / Precedent IQ 500-Amp Curtis Controller"?

Well, your cart is likely an IQ (check by confirming serial number). You can virtually plug & play with the XCT-48400-IQ programmable controller (available from site sponsors) to add steroids to your standard motor (install manual has slight error - F1 & F2 connections are shown reversed). People speak highly of it and it's available from both David at Revolution and Scotty at Carts Unlimited (sponsors on this site). Buying from a sponsor ensures their assistance if anything quirky happens during install. I'd toss your stock #6 ga. wires and buy a new/full set of (at least) 4 ga. also available from site sponsors. You'll see a lot of hills in your rear view mirror if you make those changes.

500 amps would risk pushing/toasting a standard motor. It would have to be turned down. You can buy a 500 amp programmable one and turn it down until you decide to get a "massive" motor, though.

I have the Power Drive plus Regen 2. Would the XCT-48400-IQ programmable controller still work?

No, you will need a regen 2 controller. Alltrax used to make a interface adapter for their DCX control to work on the regen 2 cart, but not sure if they have one for the XCT control. GE make the regen 2 control.
