Default Question for the brainiacs !!

My 36 volt cart ( 96 Ezgo DCS alltrax DCS 400 amp controller) when my cart sits overnight and I try to drive it, it runs fine for a few mins. Then it feels like someone reaches over and turns the key off. The it might run another 100 yds and does it again. Then it might sit there for a few mins. And take off. If suffer through this a few times and can run the cart for about 10 straight minutes it will run flawless the rest of the day. It only does this after sitting for several hours. I've checked ALL connections. The only thing I can think of is a faulty controller. BTW the motor is new.
