Opened the box containing the new parking brake which arrived 2 days ago. It was advertised on Ebay to be OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) but I am skeptic of that. It is made by the Stromag company, New Hartford, Connecticut, a global manufacturer of industrial brakes and clutches. It visually appears brand new although it reeks of burned electric; I smelled that odor before I removed it from the plastic wrapper On one of the 2 stickers it gives the 610065 EZGO stock number but that number is followed by 80396.000366824. I think this is a 'me too' after market parking brake. Which may 'splain the $119 w/ free shipping price tag.

Would it be reasonable if it is genuine EZGO OEM it would be identified with an EZGO label?

Thoughts?

Did it come in a EZGO box? My box is plain but with an EZGO sticker 610065.

No EZGO box. It came in a plain box with a sticker on it stating: PRO-FIT Superior Value, Fit and Function. There was another sticker with the 610065 EZGO part number. Nothing in the entire package identified EZGO.
I Googled "PRO-FIT". It is an aftermarket golf cart accessories and parts company.
I emailed EZGO requesting information about the Stromag company that made the parking break, particularly, if Stromag is their OEM producer or just another aftermarket factory.

Stay tuned.

1) parking brake stinks new or used --- really stinks when bad

2)STILL NOT GETTING GOOD INFO

cart needs to be hooked to handheld to see what is wrong with it.
